July 1

The 2021 City of Millington Flag City Freedom Celebration has a new location.

Festivities are moving to 4885 Bill Knight Road by the softball and baseball fields. The public is invited out July 1 starting at 6 p.m. for fun and fireworks.

Join Millington Parks and Recreation for the annual Flag City Freedom Celebration on that Thursday at the new Millington Sports Complex. A spectacular fireworks show and music by Sherry Oke. The gates open at 6 p.m. and fireworks will begin at sundown. Parking is $5 a vehicle. Parking is also very limited (please carpool).

Bring your picnic basket, blankets, coolers and lawn chairs. Food and beverage concessions will be available. For the safety and enjoyment of all, absolutely no lasers, pets, personal fireworks, grills, campfires, or political campaigning will be allowed. We ask that you social distance from other families. June 12

Honor Our Military Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Millington. There will be a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. then live military reenactments and much more. The menu for lunch will feature burgers and hotdogs. You can purchase an American flag for the field to honor a service member at 8323 Highway 51 North. For more information, call 317-9137.
