Covington takes charge in Millington

After season-opening road victory 2-1 over the Memphis Central Lady Warriors, the Millington Lady Trojans opened their 2017 home schedule on the campus of USA Stadium Aug. 17 with a 9-0 win over Power Central Academy. With a winning start, William Carter’s Lady Trojans were ready to step into district play Aug. 21. Millington welcomed to town the preseason favorite Covington Lady Chargers, and the Lady Chargers proved why they are expected to win the district rolling to a 10-1 win over the Lady Trojans. Millington freshman Destiny Jones provided that score for Millington. Jones had two goals in the win over PCA. Lady Trojan senior Chelsea Ferrell led Millington with a hat trick of goals against Power Central.

Another Lady Trojan to tallied multiple goals in the game was Kamyiah Tomlin with two. The other two goals in the Power Central game came courtesy of Bailey White and Soteria Ford.
